Our History

Vector's first location was at 3008 "H" Street in Eureka, California. Services were provided at that location from 1980 to 1988. In 1988 Vector moved to 2121 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka. A Physical Therapy Center at 2822 Harris Street, Eureka was added to offer additional services in 1995. A satellite Occupational Therapy clinic was opened in 2004 located at 1730 Main Street,Fortuna. Changes in local hospital staffing that effected the services needed by the Fortuna community, coupled with rising operational costs resulted in the decision to close the Fortuna satellite clinic just over a year afteropening its doors.

By late 2006 raising healthcare costs and a reduction in reimbursements from Medicare and MediCal, as well as a growing local population of individuals in need of services but without ability to pay resulted in an increased stress on Vector Rehabilitation general funds, and created a financial circumstance that threatened the viability of Vector remaining in business. Vector's response was to consolidate services again to a single location. Presently all Physical and Hand Therapy services, and all special programs, are available at 2121 Myrtle Avenue in Eureka,California.
